2026 Trail Passes Available

2026 Annual Trail Passes are now available for purchase! Passes are valid at all Borough trailheads from December 1, 2025 - December 31, 2026.

Land Revaluation and Market Trends in the Mat-Su

Vacant land sales have surged in the Mat-Su since the pandemic. This has prompted a data‑driven land revaluation to better align assessments with market values and ensure fair, consistent taxation across the borough.

Landfill Coupons Registration Open

Registration for annual $25 landfill coupon is now available online for eligible homeowners. The Registration period closes on May 31, but coupons are valid through March 31, 2027.

PFAS Monitoring Underway in the Mat‑Su

As part of an EPA Emerging Contaminants grant, the Alaska DEC began sampling of CWS and NTNC water systems across the State.

Burn Permits

Burn Permits are required in Alaska from April 1 through August 31. Go to the Alaska DNR Site to apply.
