The Matanuska-Susitna Borough (MSB) offers a comprehensive benefits package that goes beyond the basics to support you and your family. From medical, dental, and vision coverage to retirement savings, paid time off, and wellness resources, our goal is to provide tools and support that help you stay healthy, plan for the future, and enjoy a balanced life.

Medical: The Borough offers a medical health insurance plan.

Capstone Direct Contract: Low or no cost Primary Care, Preventative Care, Urgent Care

Transcarent: Low or no cost Virtual Primary Care, Surgery, Oncology

Teledoc Health: Diabetes and Hypertension Management
Dental: The Borough offers a dental insurance plan.
Vision: The Borough offers a vision insurance plan.
Employee Assistance Programs (EAP): The Borough offers an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) to support employees with everyday challenges, personal concerns, and work-related stress.
Life Insurance: Employees are provided with company-paid Basic Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance. They also have the option to purchase additional life insurance through the State of Alaska.
Retirement: Employees are entered into Alaska Public Employees' Retirement System (PERS). Both employees and the Borough contribute.
Pre-Tax Flexible Spending Accounts: Employees have the option to direct a portion of their salary on a pre-tax basis towards accounts to pay for certain expenses. These options include:

Deferred Compensation Retirement Savings Account: Employees have the option to direct a portion of their salary towards a retirement savings account.
Supplemental Group Life and Disability Plans through the State of Alaska: Employees have the option to enroll in State of Alaska Life insurance and Disability Plans.
Supplemental Life and Disability Plans through Aflac: Employees have the option to enroll in Aflac Life insurance and Disability Plans.
