Police in the Mat-Su Borough
The borough does not have police powers, however some of our incorporated cities do, and the state troopers also patrol in our borough.

The borough does have codes that it enforces with 3 different departments, depending on the section of code. These sections cover (insert better info) construction for fire safety, animal care and safety, and code compliance. They are listed to the right for your convenience.

Animal Care Enforcement
The Enforcement Team is made up of the Chief of Animal Care, one Animal Care Dispatcher and four Animal Care Officers. We service the whole Mat Su Borough, but we do not service within Wasilla City, Palmer City and Houston
Code Compliance
The Code Compliance team helps ensure properties in the Matanuska-Susitna Borough follow local land use and development rules. Their primary goal is to educate property owners and help them bring their property into compliance.

Dealing with fire code, fire inspections, and other duties of the Fire Marshalls.
