Our Four Objectives:
-
Identification of Cultural Resources
-
Evaluation of Cultural Resources
-
Registration of Cultural Resources
-
Protection of Cultural Resources
Meeting Information:
The Commission meets in various locations throughout the Borough, as well as virtually via Microsoft Teams. Meetings are advertised on this website, the MSB Clerk’s Office website, in the Frontiersman newspaper, and are open to the public.
Certified Local Government (CLG) History
CLG History Certified Local Government Annual Reports
The Matanuska-Susitna Borough Historical Preservation Commission was established by an Ordinance of the Assembly in April 1982. The MSB became a certified local government (CLG) in September of 1987 and is certified to carry out the purposes of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966. We are pleased that the Mat-Su Borough was the first CLG in the great state of Alaska!
