Board of Equalization

The Matanuska-Susitna Borough Board of Equalization (BOE) reviews property assessment appeals from residents who believe their property has been inaccurately valued. The Board is made up of appointed community members with experience in business, or property matters, and may convene smaller panels to efficiently handle larger caseloads.

To appeal your assessment, please submit your appeal to the Board of Equalization (BOE) within 30 days from the date your assessment notice was mailed.

The Board of equalization hears appeals of property valuation. It's duties are covered by Borough Code, MSB 3.15, and State Statute, A.S. 29.45.200(a) and (b).
